The title itself establishes a horizon of expectation for the viewer. We are then taken into the morning routine of a man who gets ready for work. While we may still be making up our mind about whether he is the stalker or the stalked, another character makes their presence known. Nicole has turned up on the doorstep of her unsuspecting neighbor Robin with a request. 

Prima facie, the request is harmless enough; Nicole simply wants to hitch a ride to work with Robin. However, it soon devolves into something terrible. The short narrative is well-intentioned, but remains marked by a few rough edges. A more firm control on the execution of the ideas would help similar projects in the future.

Stalker | Short Film Nominee

When Lucy and Dennis choose to take it upon themselves to kill their neighborhood monster, the dreaded Norman, what (mis?)adventures are in store for them? The short film maps the consequent developments and throws in together the most disparate elements in the process. The story is essentially of one night, with a few crucial moments from before and after, as the two characters go about their mission to finally bring down the monster which has led to pain and loss in both their lives. Along with an atmosphere of foreboding, the plot wants to invoke humour as well, as it takes us into the many conversations the characters have all through their day. It further wants to portray how urban legends are exploited by some, but the truth eventually surfaces, to clear any clouds of darkness that may have formed so far. The film concocts an entire story around the experiences of primarily two characters, but could have perhaps spent more time on fine-tuning its sound. Overall, the story invokes familial values, avenging your loved ones and finding companionship in one another even during the most unlikely journeys. Additionally, the character of Lucy and the actor playing it are especially sweet, allowing the film an endearing protagonist.

Monster in the Hood | Short Film Nominee

The film wants to tell a story of vampires and how their paths cross with a human who is determined to set right a wrong done to her. Her fiance, who was working on a mission to end the evil acts brought about by the supernatural beings, is discovered by the latter as being their nemesis. Consequently, they waste no time in putting an end to his life. The death arrives soon after he has proposed to his girlfriend. His surviving fiance then takes it upon herself to avenge her slain lover. Now that she has embarked upon this journey, will she truly succeed or be met with the same fate as him? The film wants to share a story of fantasy and murder, but could have spent more time on the edit table to be able to exercise better control on its sound.
