Thomas is on a road trip by himself. The calmness of the vast outdoors and nature, however, acquire a sinister, threatening quality soon after the film opens. When he stops to help a man with a broken-down car along a desolate highway, things begin to unravel swiftly.

The camerawork and visuals do a notable job when it comes to world-building, ensuring to maintain the tension first established at the beginning of the film. As the fate of the protagonist remains uncertain, the narratorial progression holds the viewer’s attention throughout.

There are a few snags in terms of writing, but they are overcome by the sincerity with which the performances are brought to life by the actors. It is definitely a welcome prospect to explore this tonality and approach to storytelling in more projects.
