An underground syndicate, Red, its renegade rival clan, Black, and the government’s Special Forces to deal with them, constitute the world of ‘Figures’. As the warring factions wage an unending battle, a Special Forces operative, Kurtis finds himself in the heart of turbulent action. 

The film does a notable job of choreographing the action sequences. The swift pace and viper-like movements keep the viewer engaged and involved. At the same time, at the plot level, some key developments are swirling, ensuring that the protagonist's fate lies in the balance right till the very end. 

There is never a drop in the energy, crucial for a film as driven by action as ‘Figures’. Betrayal and questionable loyalties continue to thicken the plot alongside it, and when the most critical revelation finally arrives, it will leave the protagonist’s world, which has been constructed with the utmost care so far, completely destroyed.

Packed with high-paced action within a crisp narrative of only a few minutes, the short film presents to you a moment in time, without explicitly mentioning the events that preceded it or the chaos which is just about to succeed it. And yet, a lucid picture is conjured in the viewer's mind which gives them a cohesive understanding of the circumstances at hand. Two brothers, Kevin and Liam, have abducted a man and are holding him hostage in a desperate attempt to put a lid on some seedy arrangement involving money. Amidst the intensity of the situation, humour is allowed an unexpected entry in the form of bickering between the two characters over, as one would have it, a bar of Twix. However inane it might appear superficially, this is precisely the object which would explain the title of the film, as well as become the very thing on which matters of life and death would come to pivot. The energy of the taut narrative never dips, keeping you involved till the very conclusion. As the characters try to find a way out of the sticky situation they have landed themselves in, there is also a comment to be made about the progress of their relationship alongside it. Additionally, the chemistry between the actors is especially notable, elevating the film further, and allowing it to be an entertaining, fun, quirky product on the whole.

As soon as the film begins, we are immediately dropped in a world marked by intense pacing, coupled with a swiftness that comes to mark the progression of events. 

 The story brings in a protagonist and an antagonist. It establishes a world order and the opposing forces that are constantly at play in bringing it down. Further, loyalty and betrayal become the two strongest emotions within the narrative, constantly tugging at each other. Amidst all this chaos, the characters are placed and presented to the viewer to engage with. 

 The final result is also marked by a zealous attempt to rope in the stylistic approach and treatment that often define an action-drama narrative. Though it displays effort and dedication, the film could have perhaps gained from a little more control on the stability of its visuals. Having said that, Agent Smith remains a story that exhibits potential and a desire to share its intentions with the viewer, leaving an unobstructed path for more similar endeavors by the team.
