The film presents to you a conversation between two women. However, the unusual circumstances and the events that precede and succeed this conversation is what makes it strangely unique, drawing the viewer in, and holding their attention throughout. Emma has found herself in a limbo between life and death, while forces more powerful than her decide on her fate - whether to keep her alive or ensure that the next development from this limbo is into the realm of death. A Grim-Reaper-like figure, dressed in immaculate white, has come to ease this passage for the protagonist. However, unlike the serenity of her attire, she brings in a deep sense of discomfort into the narrative. The exchange between the two women, coupled with a complementary score, further strives to heighten the sentiment conjured so far. As the plot develops, it exhibits skill in performance and the chemistry between the actors, along with potential in writing. A tighter control on edit and sound, however, would have allowed the final product to be smoother. Irrespective, the film leaves the door open for more such projects by the lean cast and crew.

The short film has been put together as a final product with its cast and crew members in different countries, and that indeed should be noted before the viewer begins to engage with it. The story deals with several concerns that are linked to grief, loss and the consequent guilt that gets left behind in their wake. A woman enters a strange room to find herself talking to a disembodied voice that emanates from an unusual device resembling a speaker of sorts. As she progresses deeper and deeper into the room, things get more complex and disconcerting. The conversation, in an unexpected fashion, comes to pivot itself around her new shoes, while the narrative offers a glimpse into her relationship with her father simultaneously. It is then an exploration of all of these elements and how they are eventually tied together by the film that become its core intentions.

The short film maps the experiences of two men awaiting a job appraisal during the coronavirus lockdown. The same is attempted in a comedic manner, as the entirety of the narrative comes to be constituted by phone call conversations. The film comes across as an effort which could have perhaps benefited from more engagement with its subject matter before it became a final product. The attempts are dedicated, but somehow do not translate on screen as the movie ends up exhibiting want of polish and finishing. However, amidst it all, what will be the fate of the two characters as they make fervent calls to their senior to get some kind of financial clarity on their situation?
