'Starship' is a heartfelt story of dreams, adventure, and relentless perseverance. However, the core of the narrative is constituted by something far more simple, and thereby, endowed with the potential of acquiring an unmissable universality in its appeal. It's the affection and tenderness of a father-daughter bond. The brief duration of the film packs a complete story, defined with neat boundaries of a beginning, middle, and end. A daughter is pushing the frontiers of the universe in pursuit of a goal that is only realized at the film's conclusion. When it arrives, by then not only has the protagonist completed a journey, but so has the plot, as well as the viewer who has come along on this ride. The metaphor of the eternal presence of a parent's love is entwined with competent animation and a fitting background score, tying it all together with a coherent and comprehensive communication of all of these intentions.

Tying sci-fi with drama, Space Quest presents to you a story of familial love, longing and how the protagonist has to end up sacrificing something that is most precious to him. When the film opens, it reveals to us that an inevitable situation, that had awaited him a couple of years down the line, has now surfaced prematurely, ensuring that he has to part ways with the family he deeply loves and cherishes.

 The narrative displays its prowess in animation to share the same story, using eyes as a notable visual, coupled with the protagonist's voiceover. Additionally, the ensuing glimpses into his internal conflict and upheavals allow the film to share a more detailed portrayal of the plot's core concerns.

 As the viewer is taken into the depths of outer space, a sincere attempt is made to invoke images that enhance the plot and narrative further. While the background score could be fine-tuned a little more to be an equal partner with the animation, the final result exhibits a devoted desire to share its story.

A man finds himself stranded in a desolate corner of outer space with only a 'robot butler', as he calls it, for company. Consequently, the story is allowed to develop in a situation where resources are scant, human company is absent and the chances of survival are uncertain. From rants about his hapless fate to struggles with the only presence around him, the robot, the protagonist engages with them all. However, despite the difficulties the circumstance has already offered to him, things begin to worsen. 

 Along with the emotional and mental isolation, the threat of perhaps an external force interfering in the protagonist's chances of survival also begins to stick its head out within the narrative. In the process of weaving the story for the viewer, the various elements present forth a dedicated whole for the audience to engage with. 

 As matters come to a head with the protagonist running out of food and unable to truly comprehend the true nature of his little robot friend, what shocking developments await both him and the viewer?
