Because the film is titled thus, it is made abundantly clear right at the start that the core motivation of the narrative will be reaching the final result of the events unfolding before you. It is only gradually that one begins to realize the significance of this premise.
Gabriel is having a tough day where nothing seems to be going right for her. On top of potential financial and legal trouble she is in, things at her workplace seem complicated as well.
The narrative attempts to involve the viewer in the tribulations of the protagonist simply by way of one-sided phone calls or by short glimpses into her work. As we see Gabriel snapping and truly letting the frustrations of an especially difficult day reign free, the plot reaches its crescendo.
Marked by its intimate shots and close-ups, those that aim to conjure vulnerability as well as heightened emotions for the viewer, the story is allowed a quiet, steady progression. Additionally, within the premise also rests the possibility of serendipitous events turning the course of the day around, or at least alter it, even if ever so slightly. It is then that the title of the film gets realized, allowing the final result a balanced beginning, middle and end.
