Borrowing crucial metaphors from nature, images that include the elements of water and fire, the film operates heavily within symbolism. It comes to be defined by an experimental approach that employs the might of nature, its tsunami waves, and the heat of an all-consuming fire, to portray the relentlessness of the human spirit when it has its heart set on something.

In this particular context, the film presents an overpowering desire for revenge by one friend on another. The reasons that might have caused this break are not the driving force of the film, and deliberately so. Instead, it preoccupies itself with the portrayal of the very desire itself.

While trying to seek revenge for an overwhelming sense of being wronged, the pursuit acquires staggering proportions. The screenplay presents a fitting portrayal of the emotional states of the characters by employing visuals of the vast sea in all its glory, juxtaposed against a dark that is ruthlessly dispelled by the raging flames of fire. Coupled with a notable voiceover, and completed without any verbal exchanges between the characters themselves, the film presents its vision of a tumultuous, emotionally charged world to the viewer.
