When the film opens, it is bright daylight, a setting that deliberately leaves the viewer unprepared for the dark events that are soon to unfold before them. A boy walks up to a friend, and as soon as their conversation begins, a sense of foreboding enters the narrative. The exchange between the two reveal the hardships both of them are battling at home - from financial trouble to terminally ill family members.
Soon, text messages from an unknown, unnamed sender also begin to arrive, and for the first time, the viewer is let in on what is truly unfolding behind this conversation between two friends. A violent act awaits at the climax of the film, necessities and compulsions having won the battle between what is right and what is absolutely necessary. Thereon, things develop swiftly, leading you by the hand into the course of occurrences that are just about to unravel in an unexpected manner both for the protagonist as well as the audience.
