The film opens in the mid-nineteenth century, during the Mexican-American War, in a remote corner of Arizona, Mexico. The location is a convent where the inhabitants spend their lives under the strict leadership of their superior, one who subjects them to cruel acts of violence in the name of penance. One day, when a member of the sisterhood experiences a strange sighting in the sky, a vision that invokes fear and shock, things begin to get completely out of control.

The strange light, with its myriad colors, continues to make its presence felt with terrifying consequences. The narrative, in the process, invokes moments of horror located around the body, which are simply its first steps towards a terrible catastrophe that is about to engulf the entire convent.

The cruelty of power, exploitation of sincere beliefs, sometimes of others, sometimes your own, and forbidden, denied desires, all nestle within the story. All of these emotions and ideas are brought to life with a singularity of voice and storytelling, leaving the door open for more such endeavors in the future.
