Hear Me Out!

The primary motive of the film is to explore the significance of sound, as well as its relationship, with storytelling. The same is attempted by keeping the narrative entirely devoid of dialogue. Our introduction to its world is only by way of actions and facial expressions. A couple sits at a cafe, in the midst of a disagreement.

As the argument continues to develop, the man walks out on the woman. On his way out, he runs into a strange sight - a group of people dancing to themselves, but the rhythm to which they are swaying remains unheard by the protagonist. It is only when he is offered a pair of headphones that he too hears the music, and therefore becomes a participant, in his own capacity, in the performance before him.

The endeavor, thus, also comes across as conjuring a comment on communication. A metaphor about perspectives is further brought to life - whether the dance becomes a fluid, coordinated movement of a whole for you, or remains an absurd motion of unrelated bodies - that is entirely up to the location from where you view it, underlines the film.
