Garbage Days

thriller · Short Films · english

'Garbage Days' attempts a trenchant argument about justice and the many ways its systems operate within society, molded and shaped by the invisible but supremely strong forces of power and control. When a man, Andras Norcad drives his partner Arianne away with abuse and violence, little do both characters realize that this is only the beginning of a very dark path for both of them. An episode of violence leads to a cold-blooded murder, leaving Andras at the mercy of the justice system, or so it would seem.

The film presents a dedicated exploration of the same without any verbal exchanges. Attention is paid to details of special effects, makeup, and props to bring this reality to life with unmissable impact. Though there are a few limitations when it comes to the overall production value, this particular department remains especially impeccable, further enhancing the storytelling endeavor markedly.

Amidst the many binaries of right and wrong, the powerful and the powerless what will truly be the fate of the protagonist? Will he face reprobation of any kind for his brutal crimes? The film raises the questions, as well as answers them with lucidity and smoothness, even if the subject matter itself is one defined by heaviness and darkness.
