Funny You Should Say That

A man is stuck in a dead-end, soulless job. Underneath the many aspects of this mundane life, however, lies a deep passion for comedy. Fortunately, he is in the company of a colleague who gives him the nudge that he needs in this direction, to pursue his one true love.

Though the path to his heart's desire might be paved with innumerable obstacles that include a tough audience, the demands of his day job, and the annoyance of his girlfriend at the complete immersion in writing his act, he is relentless and unwilling to give up. And yet, if the story were this simple, would we be here talking about it now?

Much to the folly of the protagonist, there are several factors at play that he remains blissfully oblivious to. In his hopes and dreams of becoming successful at comedy, along with a dash of wishful thinking, he misses a crucial detail. The film presents to you all of this in a lighthearted, fun manner, ensuring that the viewer does not miss a single beat of the narratorial progression. At the end of it all, we are left with an entertaining product, perhaps even satisfying in the manner in which it allows the viewer to be two steps ahead of our hapless protagonist.
