A nervous man sits between his busy daughter, and his wife who is headed out for some of her own chores. His gaze keeps moving over his shoulder towards where the daughter sits, absorbed in her work. Every time he opens his mouth to say something, an uninvited interruption becomes his fate, ensuring that neither the daughter nor the viewer find out his intended thoughts.
The scene becomes an embodiment of what the rest of the narrative would come to be - a father's attempts to reach out to his daughter after what feels like years of interruptions and missed opportunities. The predominant part of this thematic exploration develops around a cup of tea.
It is around the beverage that a conversation about past memories, bittersweet in their remembrance, a discussion around present worries and the overall emotional dynamic shared between a parent and his child, are invoked for the viewer. The final result is sweet and endearing, albeit with a few snags that keep the flow from being the smoothest version of itself, presenting the viewer with an honest and dedicated attempt at sharing a heartwarming story.
