It's only been a few days to Zoe's new job. The already uncertain moment is followed by a brief conversation with her mother that establishes a sense of unease that will only continue to grow deeper as the narrative progresses. Next, the viewer is presented with the location for the interview Zoe has come to conduct, one that makes her noticeably uncomfortable - a cemetery.

After meeting Sonja, the subsequent conversation develops to reveal a darkness in Zoe’s own past that still colors her relationship with not only her mother, but also with the world around her. The exchange between the two women, crafted with deliberation and care, becomes a quiet meditation on grief and the eternal presence of death in life, even if we might choose to ignore it often.

In this manner, the writing, and the performances unite as a seamless whole to present the film's end result. While the overall production value might evidence a few snags, the film remains meaningful and earnest in its tonality and engagement with the subject matter.
