A man and woman meet at a cafe. While the first suggestion of such a setting can be of affection, what follows next is far from that. A flurry of emotions gone sour, bitterness, resentment and anger ensure that the viewer is immediately on the same page as the characters, and headed in a direction opposite of what they may have expected so far.

Mark and Amy are thus revealed to be former lovers who were together for six years. A mistake on Amy’s part, and distancing on Mark’s, seem to have spelled the end of their relationship.

The ensuing conversation not only gives a glimpse into the dynamics of their relationship, but also attempts an engagement with the many complexities of intimacy, love and a shared life between two people. The intention is marked by sincerity, even if showing a want of tighter control over a few aspects of the end result.
