Echoes of My Heart

romance · Short Films · english

When two former lovers decide to take a walk at the cusp of a major life decision, several emotional complexities, more than they could have anticipated or expected, rise to the surface. It’s a short walk, from the antique shop the man runs, to his house, and yet, enough time for a conversation that rakes up deep regrets about a life not lived, and a painful reflection on what could have been.

While one of the characters might still be standing still, or at least questioning how different things would have been if she could go back or move in a different direction, life and the inexorable passage of time wait for none. It always inevitably moves on, and the pain that comes from being forced to move on with it becomes a defining thought of the story and the screenplay.

The thought is allowed a clear, and closely-held engagement by way of writing and performances that are further marked by the chemistry of the two actors. The tonality is quiet and controlled; even if a few snags appear in terms of sound, the overall end result remains earnest and successful in all that it intends to convey.
