‘Crushed’ is a comedy and romance, but with a slight twist, one that entails a dead body. Interestingly, the premise is first presented to you in the form of a cheery, sunlight-filled world of a summer day when two friends prepare to have breakfast. <br><br>

Alex and John have had feelings for each other for a long time now, and today seems to be the day when they finally share it. However, fate has other plans for them as a terrible, dark development suddenly grips the narrative. <br><br>

Without giving away too much, it can be noted that the ensuing dynamic provides a good metaphor for how a relationship, or even a version of it, can exist in someone’s head which may not be tandem with their ‘partner’ at all. Without taking into account the other person’s role in it, an emotional dynamic can be entirely confined to only one of the two parties. Though the aforementioned dead body could have been a little more…er…dead, in its general demeanour and emotiveness, the overall final result is fun, effervescent, defined by notable performances and chemistry, and is certain to make an impression on the viewer.
