The Covid-19 pandemic ensured that we found ourselves way over our heads when it engulfed the world and left us all confined inside our homes. The consequent isolation and emotional duress was an experience no one had any prior understanding of, and therefore, all we could hope to do in the face of the immensely disconcerting circumstance, was to somehow wake up every morning and manage to push through, one day at a time.

The short film is an engagement with the same premise, explored through the lived reality of its protagonist. As he watches the world come to a standstill from his curtained window, desperate attempts are made to exercise, try his hand at meditation, go about his business in a regular manner, all along turning up for 'crazy hat Fridays' over work calls once a week. From pans to jars, he tries all, amusing his colleagues with a new contraption over his head every time, until one fateful day when the laughter is suddenly cut short.

In the process, the narrative conjures comments on the effects of emotional and physical isolation on a person's life. By delineating his day-to-day life, we are reminded of an experience each viewer is all too familiar with at this point. Additionally, there is a resounding comment about the incapability of workplaces to ensure the well-being of their employees, a gross flaw that was laid bare in 2020. The futility of our systems' half-hearted efforts, as well as the indifference of the said systems towards their employees, is thus allowed a pertinent and crucial articulation in the film.
