Antarctica, the Last Frontier

By Tommy Marshall with 6.8

The film is hilariously conceived and even more skilfully realized by a competent performance of the protagonist who is undaunting and impossible to miss. He is going to Antarctica, a trip he is completely amped about, and yet, the same enthusiasm is far from being reflected in his peers. As he moves from one corner of a house party to another, all he is met in the face of his excitement is casual indifference.

Alcohol begins to flow, further making him lose grip of any smattering of rationality he may have had earlier, leading to a complete and absolute rejection of everyone’s inability to appreciate him for his incredible endeavor. The film does a notable job of distilling a single moment, a specific emotion, one’s inability to understand a circumstance from another person’s point of view, rendering our protagonist guilty of the same flaw that he is quick to point out in others.

Never devoid of humor singular to the film, further evidenced by the originality of voice within storytelling and narrative-building in the brief length of the short film, the end result remains entertaining and involving throughout, ensuring the communication of everything it has set out to convey is marked by ease.
