Amy has found herself in a fix. Following a fall-out with her boyfriend, she has moved back in with her mother. Struggling to make friends or find an end to the isolation, no matter the amount of advice dished out to her by podcasts on similar themes, she seeks out a small job of babysitting. 

As the premise is established, we are taken into a bright, sun-lit world of a rosy-cheeked protagonist. This brightness remains consistent throughout, despite the potentially dark developments unfolding before us. It is in this consistency that horror and humor are allowed an efficient coupling in the short film. Amy, on the other hand, is in for a truly shocking surprise when she finds out that the job entails not the looking after of a child, but of indeed a moody, eccentric ghost who refuses to move on. 

 With an affinity for breaking objects and throwing tantrums if her desires are not met with, our supernatural friend too brings in an unexpected union of two disparate elements - horror and the promise of something that might offer Amy relief from her troubles. The film's world remains marked by a quiet softness, brought to life notably by the actors and their endearing characters, all of which together take the narrative home in a smooth manner.

The film brings to life a powerful story of resilience, survival, and waging the toughest battles life might throw someone’s way. The protagonist of this non-fiction narrative is Myles Berrio, a survivor of a near-fatal accident that cost him two of his limbs. 

 However, refusing to buckle down, he came back at life with an even more fierce spirit, downright refusing to merely be a survivor. In Berrio’s own words, he found a way to thrive, irrespective of the circumstances. The protagonist and his remarkable story of courage, determination, and strength are easily the strongest aspects of the film. 

Additionally, the narrative brings forth a notable endeavor that does justice to its delineation and execution. At its core rests a crucial message about ideas of courage, but above all, about kindness, forgiveness, sometimes even towards oneself if need be, making the story an impactful, poignant one that is sure to stay with the viewer for a long time.

Myles Berrio: From Surviving to Thriving | Short Film of the Day

Meg’s grandmother has recently passed away. As she stands before her massive hat collection, alongside her mother Jeanine, a sense of regret at not having known her better is expressed within the film. However, little does Meg realize that this lament is about to be addressed in the most unexpected manner. 
Fantasy nestles itself within the heart of the drama unfolding before us as Meg finds herself reliving her grandmother’s memories when she puts on a hat. The memories, along with fulfilling Meg’s wish, also serve the purpose of solving a key issue of the story - Jeanine's desperate search to find her mother’s necklace before her pugnacious sisters get to it and claim it as their own. 
Though the film does not fully utilize performance and production tools, it presents a sincere story with its heart in the right place. Alongside the tension infused within the film, there is further an engagement with bereavement and the grief it leaves behind, coupled with memory, longing, and wish fulfillment, adequately interacted with by employing the screenplay and writing.
